How long will my session
take?
Sessions typically take from one to two hours depending on
changes of clothing and indoor/outdoor options. Please be on
time for your session. A 24 hour notice is required if you
need to reschedule.
What should I wear?
Simple, timeless clothing in solid colors are best. Light
colors look best for light backdrops; dark clothes look best
for dark backdrops. When having a family picture made solid,
darker toned shirts will bring more focus to the faces.
Denim or khakis with solid shirts are great! Children look
great in denim overalls, too. Trendy or busy clothing with
patterns, logos, sparkles, etc., date the image and distract
the viewer from the focus, the face. Please, do not wear
bold stripes or plaids.
Seniors:
Senior Sessions are parent-free sessions. Seniors are more
relaxed without the distraction of other adults. Graduation
caps/gowns, letterman jackets, hats, sports equipment, fresh
flowers, and your vehicle are all props that you might like
to bring. If you wear glasses you may want to consider
having the lenses removed by an optometrist before the
session to eliminate glass glare.
Infants:
Newborn sessions often last up to three hours, with breaks
for feedings and calming. Infants photograph best unclothed
and in black and white images to minimize blotchy skin.
Dress your infant in loose-fitting clothes so no creases or
fabric impressions will be visible after removing the
clothes. Remove socks an hour before the session or ankle
creases will show. If you are interested in a baby parts
collage, please request it before the session.
What does the session fee cover?
The session fee of $225 (for up to four people) covers the
photographer's time for set-up, session, and post-session
production of prints. It also includes a $100 credit toward
print purchases. Sessions should be booked two weeks in
advance.
What forms of Payment do you accept?
Currently, I accept cash or check. Credit card purchases are
available only through PayPal. The sitting fee is due before
photo session and all orders must be prepaid at the time the
order is placed. Checks are made payable to René Smith.
Ordering
Your proofs will be available for viewing at a private web
page within 1 week of the portrait session. You will also be
able to print proofs and order forms to order at your
convenience. If you do not have internet access, you will be
provided with a Proof CD. Prints will be available 2 weeks
after order is placed.
How long do you keep "negatives" (digital files)?
All image poses ordered within 30 days of the proof viewing
will be archived and available for purchase for one year.
Those images not ordered will remain on file for an
additional 30 days and then, if not ordered, will be
deleted.
Copyright Information
All images are copyright by René Smith Photography. It is
expressly forbidden to scan, copy, print out on a home
printer or otherwise reproduce these images. Prints may be
ordered at current print prices. |
